I see that there are some people around here in this country who obviously don't like Raleigh. Or shall I better say they hate Raleigh?

I also see different reasons. Some think a local brand can never be as good as an international brand, some others are just jealous of Raleigh's success, some don't like the designs, and some others (but just very few) had a bad experience with a Raleigh bike. There a few more reasons, but at the end bashing Raleigh seems to be some kind of national sport here.

I must say I can actually laugh about it. And that's why I would like to start a competition here:

Who is the biggest Raleigh basher on The Hub? Who does really hate us? Kick our arses, say the worst things you can about Raleigh!

We'll read everything, and the Probike team (Robbie, Big Al, Brandon and I) will decide about who is the biggest Raleigh basher on The Hub.

The winner will get a new Raleigh MR LTD frameset as soon as it is available (around October '08), but there's a rub in it: Who ever wins the frame must ride it for 1 year! And maybe Raleigh is not as bad as he always thought Wink.

This competition is not a joke, I want to see bad things, and the worst of you will get a frameset!

Jan Bad, Idea, I already ride a Raleigh and am perfectly happy with it, now I would realy love a new Raleigh MR LTD frameset and may be willing to stoop to some pretty low levels, this places me in something of a quandry, bash a great brand to get a new ride. Sorry, wont do it, give the bike to Chunky or one of his mates, they could use the love.

P.S there are some people who just hate success, they have their own issus to deal with.

Ok, I just went to my bike room and bashed my raleigh team in half - enough bashing for you LOL

as much as one of my favourite sports is Rally bashing, even i admit it is normally misguided and childish. (maybe i've matured, but most likely its Cheris?'s fault)

It's hard to be proud of a brand that also has utter cr@p going for R500 at the hyperama.

Until they do a Lexus/Toyota and split their ranges into different brands this'll never end. Who cares if Rally one the tour in 1980, I think it holds little prestige as a name. No amount of R&D or even design awards will fix it, it's a marketing problem.

Nothing wrong with a Raleigh at all, my RM7 morphed into a Santa Cruz Superlight and I'm under the impression that Mampara's RM4 did likewise.

In fact I know of a Merida owned by someone on the Hub that is busy morphing into an RM7. LOL

I would like to add 2 rules:
