I commented a few posts above and someone then DM'd me here asking if I had a pic of the vehicle, stating it would help with the investigation.

Firstly, the vehicle remained on scene so would have been photographed and secondly this profile was registered like 6 minutes before. 

Am I smelling something or was that a legitimate request? I'm thinking someone ghoulish or journalistic was after a picture?

I would estimate somewhere between ghoulish and journalistic

Not a chance a cop would be registering on the Hub. Sounds very journalistic to me. Or someone trying to defend the driver.

Plan not to, even when pigs are flying overhead. I don't have a pic as it was heart rending to see and the thought of taking pictures is disgusting!

I support the no pictures for sharing, but if it were me down, I would want you to take a pic of the scene's orientation as potential evidence that there is no escape from justice due to a lack of details come trial time.

There were security personnel in scene as they had detained the driver and passenger. I think they had it well under control
