Juan se fiets is heeltemal verfrommel.

Have to agree with Mampara on that one,

Every team is obliged to check out the finish and familiarise themselves and their riders on how the race finishes.

That's Basic 101 when you do the Team Managers course.

So if they checked it out, and were happy enough with the finish at the start, why complain bitterly at the finish when your rider/s crash at the finish???

You should have made suggestions before the race then started!!!! IMHO of course

Mampara.....

HOE DEL HEL PAK JY KEGELS OP SO MANIER?????????????????????????20061113_000351_DSC06395.JPG

Sorry about the bad quality.......this was taken from the bridge....

Everyone can clearly see that there is a disaster coming up!!!

On the other hand, the team sitting in front should have warned the riders.........

The riders at the back could not see SH!T!!

The thin white line?

The one we should not cross?

300m before the finish, I think each pro team should have their train running for their sprinter?

Hope the injuries heal fast!

I fully agree with what Spinnekop states, however I must mention I questioned the cones issue and as stated on the other posting The @##$$%^ on the Golf cart was more worried about the sponsors banners other than removing the cones. How do you place these cones on the road at least a 1/2 meter of the white line, then suddenly onto the white line at a 90 degree placement check the photos. Further towrads the finish you do the same with the barriers that has several riders smash into them.

The CSA official was NOT warning riders about the accident he was actually placing more personnel on the road to wave the riders down thus creating more of a danger to all on the rode.

Just my 5 cents worth ... Like Skinny said, 300m to the finish ... why does leadout guys sitting to the edge ... i see 2 lanes clear .. come on guys ... u suppose to "PRO's" even the leaders should have taken cognise of the cones going to cause problems ....

Also with CSA .. is there no "safety" officer that should have seen this problem at the finish; and rectified the problem well in advance?

Klapperknop you clearly don't understand pro racing. To just put it into perspective' date=' the wind is coming from the right. For a team to go and work it's butt off on the right of the picture would give other teams a free ride to the finish. Riding on the left of the picture allows only their designated sprinter protection from the wind. This is standard racing, everyone who has ever raced competitively should expect this, especially the people who officiate every weekend.[/quote']

Manbat, I do understand racing as a whole and yes, I know where the wind was coming from. However, 300-500m from the finish line and as the leading guys you see cones endangering the whole bunch ... I suppose as a PRO you rather bring the entire bunch down causing a crash than preventing it? ... good logic you have!

This guy (Wilhelm de Swardt) seriously needs to get his facts straignt. Junior Commonwealth Games (where Juan won the medals) was two years ago. How can you be a journalist if you make a mistake in every article you write. Beeld should rather get someone like Bradley Smith who atleast knows what's going on in the sport. Remember lastyear when Herman Fouche won the Amashova and he put a big article in the beeld about "Herman Marx" Winning the Amashova.

Klapperknop.....Don't go there.....the cones was not thought through.........the guy sitting in front of that bunch has his balls in a sling, Eyes bulging, HR at 210, Legs burning, lungs gasping for air.....HE DOES NOT GIVE A FLYING (*)_*#&)(*!@ ABOUT THE OTHER RIDERS IN THE BUNCH......He just wants to get over the line.....there is not time to point out the danger......you are just sitting there.....in the gutter....

The cones should have been packed in a way that brings the riders gradually into the line and over the mats.  NOT 90 degrees......PUNT.

Yup....agree on that one Klapperknop.

But then again....racing as a "pro", you know the dangers and exept them....the good with the bad.  It is dangerous.
