I made a list which I keep with my torque wrench of all the torque settings of the components that I have on my bike and of the frame.

I ussually torque my components to the minimum specs. If for instance the frame has one spec and the component another, I torque it according to the lowest of the two settings.

Is this particular to each bike or are they pretty similar for the same materials? eg. Pedals onto ali cranks? Brake calipers onto forks?

Some of my stuff is older (classis) and I cant find manuals on the guys websites.

Yip, I've also done the Cape Town search for Torque Wrench thing. Even at some of the top shops i got blank stares and really stupid comments.

Which shops did you go to?

I saw a Park Tools torque wrench @ Olympic on Saturday morning. I didn't see the torque range though.

BMC is selling Teng Tools wrenches for about R750. It comes with the Allen key attachments. Placed my order today.

Cicada also had a few wrenches available a while ago...

You will not find Pedro's anymore. Probike also dropped that.

And Paragon took it over.

That is excellent news, thanks. Love Pedro products.

So Shamus, are you involved with Paragon?

I haven't seen a parktool unit that looks like the BBB/pedro/PRO units. The only ones I have seen are those crappy 'deflection guage' units

Just seen the BBB ones @ Crown Cycles on Lansdowne Rd. Think they were about R600.00. Very nice will all the attachements in the box.

Bit peeved as I just got my Teng Tools one with seperate bits for R100.00 more.
