Lance turning into a baggy wearing freerider?

LOVE IT TongueLOL

Madison Wisconsin, April 1st, 2008 - Trek Bicycles is proud to announce

the re-signing of Lance Armstrong.  No, Lance isn't bidding for number

8 - he's discovered riding of a different stripe.  After hitting a few

secret laps in the Whistler Bike Park with Andrew Shandro after the lifts

had stopped turning Lance caught the freeride fever - and he caught it bad.  Lance's

'training' began at Trek's secret facility in Madison Wisconsin but the real

bug bit in Whistler. After that finding an appropriate spot to ride was a

real challenge. "Lance doesn't need a bunch of Canadians around to learn

to freeride - a bunch of knuckle dragging autograph hounds is all they are

anyway.  The

man needs somewhere he can concentrate - and get a first class burrito." commented

former Trek employee Zapata Espinosa.

In actual fact though a couple of Canadians were a vital part of Armstrong's

rise to the top of the freeride world (yes - he's that good).  Andrew

Shandro was the first to introduce the Yellow Jersey to the dark side of

bicycle riding.  "We'd met a few times at Trek functions and it

was cool to hear that Lance was into freeride.  He'd already seen The

Collective and Roam and was really curious about what it took to ride some

of that stuff.  I

finally told him to come and check out Whistler and he was all over it."

So was the seven time Tour winnner as natural in the air like as he was

on the road?  Here's what Shandro had to say:  "There's a

steep curve for someone without a background doing action sports but towards

the end of the first secret

session I started

to notice him get a little more aggressive and after the second session he

was throwing in a little style. Each ride was only a couple of hours because

the mountain was closed to the public for security reasons, but he was getting

it for sure.  I've heard he's been killing it lately."

Wow, and I though that sort of talk was reserved for refering to the Gautengers

Considering Canadians consider themselves the Kings of freeride and MTB in general, this is rather aggressive talk from a USA bike manufacturer.

Something like we have Demi-God Lance, so na,na,na,na,na.
