yesterday morning while out on my ride with 4 others we were passed by a dark blue merc that was literally flying along beyers naude, and up ahead of us it turned left onto christiaan de wet. i recall (stupidly) thinking "hope you hit a tree numbnut" cos of the insane speed he was driving. we had hardly turned left onto christiaan de wet whena  tow truck went screaming past in the direction that the merc had gone. i recal stupidly thinking "justice".

a short distance further we found the scene. yes, it was the merc but the #$%^& $%^&* $%^&*I( had got off himself unharmed. he was all worried about "my windscreen is bef.k" and the one tow truck driver was asking the other about the lump in the "gutter" of high grass "is he dead?" "uh huh"

we had not witnessed the actual accident so we just kept riding, but it really left a sour feeling over the ride (at least for me).

i honestly feel that this driver should be charged with murder - manslaughter is only appropriate if the driver hasn't deliberately and knowingly been behaving in a way to create undue danger to others.

SP if one goes on the history of the weekend seems that that some MB drivers are real dipsh1ts.

I am not generalizing, some hubbers ride MB's,  but some people undergo a complete personality change.  And nothing is going to change untill we as people do the mindswitch as to who and what we become when we get behind the wheel of a car

Reg Lizard, this is bugging me cos unfortunately didn't get the reg number of the plate. and as johan and i were discussing later at the brekkies stop, it looked like the cager was buddies witht he tow trucks - what are the chances that the merc is just gonna "dissappear" but how do we report it with no reg number and without having seen the actual accident?

You don't perhaps remember which tow truck service it was? If you do, you can always refer the SAPD to the tow truck company for investigation into whether they had any history of any events on that day along that road.

reg lizard - the one was white truck with orage/red and yellow - A1 assist i think - very fat driver that i would recognise and the other was blue with mostly silver logo. prob is to id them i'd have to id the tow truck driver - and then i will be targeted by these buggers - it's a very tight little community.

The police? Investigate anything? Not in my experience. My house was cleaned out while I was getting my ass whipped at SA Champs this year, the cops were utterly useless and actually ended up stealing more than the burglars did - because my neighbour found my stuff under his tree and (foolishly, he admitted) handed it over to the cops.

Why do you have to mention him driving a merc? What if he drived a corolla? Or a Uno? Ok..if it were a uno the driver would have been killed on impact and the pedestrian would have walk away...

joe low - let's see - car driving way in excess of speed limit

car then stationary with shattered windscreen and damged front end of car, with skid marks from ont he yellow line to where it is now stationary in yellow line... dead body in gutter... ok wait, the damage to the vehicle miraculously appread and he just stopped for the fun of it.

yep, so if your house gets burgalled and someone gets cought 2m away carrying your stuff it is just coincidence. if someone enters your property by breaking in it's just for a glass of water. JZ is 100% innocent and to even think there is a chance of it not being so is grand treason.

SP - the post has such an emotional and vindictive spirit, that it's hard to side with it.

Put the facts and let people make their own minds up.

I'm siding with SP here as well. Inference is an important tool for efficient thinking. And people driving like mullets is never a good idea.

if the guy had not been driving at an exceedingly high speed and had the skid marks not started on the yellow then i would not be so p'd off. strange how there's no prob witht he "bloody sunday on the cradle" route where some peeps have said the bnikers get their just reqwards by having accidents, but the moment a cager drives wayyyy too fast and kills someone then we need to be all nice and kind and not upset (vindictive would be saying that i hope he kills himself next)
