Token, why you so against RK... surprises me??

They are a good team, and hopefully will soon wrap up a new sponsor. We need teams in the Cape, and the more the Merrier.  Hannachi would beat any team on his own,,,, just sheer class.

Token... when you coming to Killarney?????????

would you want to sponsor a team that take 5 riders vs 1(who had been in a 4man break for 30km)  to a finish line and still loose

And people say I am negative? Sheeesh Token go easy buddy, And why do you hate them so much? They a awsome team with strong riders. I think it will be a shame if they loose the sponsor.

Is this the slow demise of the elite league ?Rumor has it that RK and Powerbar are coming to SV leage.Great.Last season we had over 100 registered SV and about 12 teams.Makes for great racing.Clap

the riders down here in the cape are just a bunch of bloodsuckers. they'll suck the sponsor dry and then just latch on to the next **** that comes along.lets face it if any of our riders were that good they would be in Jhb, why don't the wannabe pro just face up to the fact that they have chosen a sport that is very expensive to participate in,  and treat it like any other amateur sports person threats their sport. pay your own way and let the sponsor sponsor the event then only the best will get whats due to them. i bet that RK could have sponsored all leagues - elite to masters for the last three years - with the money he has wasted on his team. i know , i know , its his money, but don't discount the riders who want / demand / need / push for more of his money.

Sponsors come and go (Liberty, RK even Microsoft), riders are dropped or move to new teams at this time of the year, so I would not be too hard on the riders or on RK.  I just hope we get a new team to challenge CSC otherwise we will be in for a very boring Elite season.  Time to move on, get new sponsors excited and up the level of competition.  At least the RK guys had cool kits...

As you say sponsors come and go, they get what they want out and move on, it will be up to those riders to find another sponsor. Atleast there was a sponsor that helped riders so far. Hats off to them for doing it.

If Im correct most of RK riders are vets I think? Vets in Cape Town seem to get more exposure than Elites so it would be a better choice and it will make my racing easier in Summer!!!

Vets racing seems to be alive in the Cape and Gauteng and I guess it is partly due to the fact that a lot of the sponsors would like to get exposure to the Vets target group as potential customers (being a bit older and probably a bit wealthier) plus most vets teams would be part timers/amateurs and be a bit cheaper to sponsor.   I would sponsor a vets team if I had the choice!  Plus if you look at the Argus entries they peak at the 35-45 age group which might indicate that cycling (dare I say it) is becoming a middle-aged sport...

yes - RK were pretty dominant in the DC. To break 5.5hrs is serious riding. i doubt moolies will ever be seen dead riding in the SV league group LOL, even when he's 50!! (i know he does vets tours, but that only when there is no elite section)

I think sponsors get more out of sponsoring a team than an event or a league. The sponsorship usually lasts the whole calender year - which gives the brand max time to get known by the riding public.

Moolies and RK have deserved every cent spend on them, and if in your opinion Butafly, they sucked the sponsor dry.... that's between them, but actually learn the facts first....... a bit harsh.Thumbs%20Down

Moolies and John O have done wonders for 'racing' here in the Cape, and thanks to them, and Willie, I have a son in Jhb racing Pro Team...... he also was in those teams with Moolies and I am not aware of ever being 'sucking' the sponsor, other way around... we paid our way, thats way they are still getting sponosors, as they will again next year.Thumbs%20Up

Moolies will be awesome in the SV.... Good competition for him... just doestn;t want to 'grow old' Big%20smile

Just a reminder, over the last three leaque races, if it wasn't for the break away's in the elites the S/V would have won those races on time.Shocked
