I think I read somewhere that you can get the ones that attaches to your bike with velcro at Sportmans Warehouse for about R200. But I can be wrong.

But where? I remember an entire page dedicated to the topic...

Maybe a stupid question but why was the cop holding his gun? I thought it was supposed to be holstered unless in use but I am certainly no expert.

Figured it was a rifle, not a handgun...

Have a look at the gadget shop in pretoria.

You can get a Tazer from them. 50m range.

Just a couple of days after asking is anyone had heard about bike jackings on the spruit...

I was riding back from work at about 17h30 last night when a chap stopped me on the spruit to say he just had his bike & helmet stolen from him!!!

It happened' date=' at where I thought was the safe end of the Spruit - in the open field near the wooden bridge close to 12th Avenue

It apparently was not the bush sleepers/blanket walkers - these chaps were well dressed and clearly knew what they were doing. Preferred method of appropriation were knives   - and apparently they were not happy with just taking his bike they wanted a fight... needless to say the chap in question did not put up one.

I did a u-turn and headed back up to riverside shops where I reported it to a police patrol vehicle - who said they would investigate - with as much urgency as a husband getting ready for a Sunday lunch at the in-laws!

[...']

I ran into the same chap, maybe just after or before you. Shortish guy, dark hair, European accent?

I went to see if I could spot the bastards, but they were long gone. Please be very cautious when using the Spruit.

flemish lion, was that you? LOL

glad the dude is ok. what about posting details of his stolen bike?

As mentioned he was a gent of European descent who said the bike make was grey! and the helmet white - that is the best he could do! smiley2.gif

The guy doesn't know the make of his bike or helmet ? Confused
