Many years ago there was a placed called the "Wind Jammer" in Gordon's Bay where we used to hang out. At one stage a band called Hot Wax played there with a very good lead lady and they did a cover version of Brass in Pocket by The pretenders.

So on the weekend I was at the Glen and spotted a Pretenders Album at the CD store and bought it. So this morning coming to work I played "Brass in Pocket" and did not spare the volume control. Man it still is a good song and comes with some good memories......

paint it black - rolling stones

Awesome song. Reminds of the movie Full Metal Jacket

Also back in the day when Mnet was free there was a show called S*M*A*S*H which also had this song as their theme.

actually the theme song to the tv show was an instrumental version of johnny mandel's "suicide is painless". the lyrical version was used with the film, but the lyrics were too grim for a tv audience.

so that's my song of the day...
