Song of the day, add your current favourite....

I think I am going to carry on posting songs by simone felice or the felice brothers until I can convert some fans!

It is no surprise that this guy has written 2 books of poetry

Great sound, but I will need radio edits - mostly listen in the car and on the home stereo. Kiddies are often in the car and the house is open plan, so repeated use of expletives, such as 'f@#k' in the River Jordan vid you posted earlier, don't help!

I have this song on repeat at the moment - the live is obvs much rawer than the original..but the videography on this video is just fantastic

@Stretch, i'm curious - where / how do you discover what I'll call rather obscure bands etc .. there used to be a magazine - off the top of my head can't remember what its called but it would have some interesting demos and cuts on it ..and i'd often discover some gems on there, but stuff like this doesn't get radio play etc - how do you discover it?

I recently started playing stuff randomly on soundCloud but you have to sift through a lot of crap as well.

P.s Was playing this the other morning, my OH got out of the shower and started howling like a cat in pain along with it

Mainly, my brother keeps me up to speed. Then my sisters boyfriend is a big muso and they are based in london town so they get access to a lot more.

I also follow twitter and instagram of some of my more favourite artists and they often post links to what they like and/or are supporting or being supported by... and then American Songwriter is just a wealth of information - with some rubbish...but some incredible finds from there http://www.americansongwriter.com/

edit - oh and after SXSW every year, you keep an eye on the news and see who was making waves

and my business partner and I have similar tastes...so he often gives me stuff and vica versa...but we have our disagreements

one more thing www.allmusic.com is a wealth of information - sideprojects of bands...similar to artists etc

had a google, yeah it's uncut.... that was cool was bloody expensive on student budget but got some cool tunes off it

http://www.discogs.c...-Uncut-Magazine

uncut used to be good and Q was quite good too...but because they are both british based magazines and brtish music is still playing around in the 90's somewhere they are a bit useless now...........maybe i'm being a bit harsh on the poms

hear you...i think that's the only one that really has expletives - oh - and a song called dallas... its an interesting point you raise though.. I mainly play music in my car and at the office..if my kids are in the car with me they hear it..but i guess they are old enough to understand that its part of a song, and they are are hearing it on the tv too...and sometimes when dad hits his thumb with a hammer....at the end of the day I would rather have them being introduced to music other than what you hear on the radio, and if that means a few expletive get to their ears then so be it

Uncut, it's damned expensive, but I buy one every now and again.

Been listening to Afghan Whigs again, was reminded of them in an Uncut I bought recently

when British music was still relevant

What do you mean by relevant?

For me it's about does it invoke something..(even distaste)

I love these guys

Had such a crush on Brett in my youth ;)

was a big suede fan - and managed to see them at the kilburn Ballroom

what I am meaning is that british music has lost its charm that it had in the 70's 80's and early 90's...seems to have hit the 90's and then got stuck there
