All this talk of Pink Floyd today.

I have just listened to all 4 sides of an original 1979 Harvest pressing of THE WALL.

This record has to best balanced Floyd record if we were to speak of Waters or Gilmoure.

Waters brings incredible songwriting to the album (I still don't know why he is so obsessed with the war and Vera Lynn smiley36.gif )and then we have Gilmoure's soaring guitar which is just electrifying and enough to liquefy ones brain cells.

Seminal, sublime and an absolutely fantastic tour de force.

Have you ever watched the film, The Wall. Some of the images and scenes are quite disturbing. The film does to a certain extent explain some of his obsessions. The fact that he was born in 1943, during the war, might also explain some of this obsession with the war and with Vera Lynn, whose career flourished during World War II, when she was nicknamed "The Forces' Sweetheart".

Both the film and the music are amazing, if somewhat disturbing.

I have the DVD and watch it upscaled to 1080 p. that makes the movie even more disturbing, it was a great example to show addicts how they could waste their lives.

Actually you should.

See if it has the same effect now that you are a little older.
