fastone Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 am aiming to be their for about 9. at what time will the beer tents open? Holy are you aiming to be there at 9 or to have finished the race by 9?
Prince Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Did 2.57 last year so sub 2.50 would be magic!
dfm1 Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 3hrs 215 minutes and 69874268 seconds That is more than 2 years' date=' you will be last in 2010 by a few weeks!0.00484km/h[/quote'] Ja, but I might win 2011 by a few hundreds of a second
PeterM Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 anyone around Y that reckons on doing 3:00 - 3:15 ? Am interested ? only seeded CC. But that is not a fair reflection. Cycle Challenge, with their indices calculations, did not include the cape races, except the Argus, despite having promised to include all long league races of the cape. This gives a serious advantage to the Gautenger?s whose local races are mostly included in the seeding. Only started cycling a year ago but have done all the race I could. Presently seeded in the <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Cape at an indices of +-28. Have been practicing during winter. So 3h10 seems good to me. Might catch-up with you. Will be wearing my Cape Town Outrider kit = blue + white.
Avalance Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Did a 3:24 in 2006 and was sick last year, but aiming to beat that time. Hoping for the best

I know of a few guys that have done that.
IanJ Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I would loove to crack a sub 2:30. Fitter than I have been before so hopefully if the VD bunch plays the game we should be ok. Don't forget the route is slightly easier this year with a shorter climb up Witkoppen and the nasty bump near Northgate excluded. They have been replaced with the flat inner city loop. Just watch for crashes on the tight corners. Edit: and the finish is not to the right up the hill it is now in the main road (R55) where it was two years ago (so you will save at least 30sec there ). Li Mu Bai Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 This will be my secong 94.7 outing - have to beat 2:42. Seeded VB so it seems I will have to hang on for dear life.Todays Satellite was awesome, what an enjoyable ride, perfect weather, sub 3hr, prep seems to be on track...
Pocketbikes Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 The 94.7 was my very first race and did it in 5:15. This will be my 1year anniversary at cycling (or trying). I did the 2008 Argus in 3:40and the Dome 2 Dome in 4:01. What would be a realistic time to aim forat the 94.7 ?I guess/aim for a 3:25
