mmm nice Bike.

about 3 weeks agoI was riding that rhino park road. There was a motorcyclist who had lost control, shot off the road, broke clean through a fence, and lay dead facedown in the dust in a field, his bike trashed 80m away from him. 2 other motorcyclists looked on, 1 paramedic, and one guy with a meatwagon to take him away.

Nothing romantic about how he died. I stood looking at this sad sight for several minutes. did anyone depend on him, who has he left behind?

The way some of the motorcyclists take those narrow corners is nuts, way too fast, and frankly if they loose control like this guy had, anyone in the way would be toast.

So take a moment to consider this. Its not a racetrack out there. is it worth it?

Relax, just a bit of tongue in cheek with refrence to the exact incident you mention here. It'll be used mostly at track school and for trips to the eastern transvaal (mpumalanga if you must). Nothing will replace quality time with my Santa Cruz's...

Hey RUDE. I was coming home from Hekpoort the other day, the way some  of those guys came past me. I actually stopped for a while and had  the same kind of thoughts. Do thier wives, girlfriends, life partners etc know that many of them ride like complete idiots.AngryAngryAngry

yea, in yesterdays race we had some guys screeeeaaaam past us, must easily have been over 200km/h. just bizarre. the saddest thing is that its all over before they have even realised whats happened. that chap who died must have shot over his handlebars straight onto his head after hitting the dip off the edge of the road,  snapped his neck due to the speed and thats it. His story is over, everything gone.

MTBaai. just be careful, **** happens fast, and affects many other people.Wink

I'm coming for you...

This is a very SICK kind of humor!!

Heard the dude left a wife and 2 kids behind and it wasn't a newby! Luckily he didn't hit any innocent people...

I had a supermotard for a few years - even with such a 'slow' machine (165 km/h max) it wasn't easy to control myself now and then - loved the 'kicks' too much! Just stick a photo of your family on your petrol tank or something... behave yourself out there Wink

Nice bike btw!

Was at a funeral a couple of weeks ago. Poor dude died in a bike accident. Open Casket at the front door!

That is a really nice machine but ride it responsibly. Good Luck!

Yup, he was a 37yo doctor, and his wife was a doctor as well, couple of kids IIRC - very sad!

There was a long discussion on Think Bike forums about this incident.  I also got there just after it happened.

Ai! Can't stand those things. And they scare the flippin lycra pants right off me when some mullet comes for me on the Kromdraai or Fynnaai road....
