An unashamed cheapskate, I joined Standard Bank's cycling club for the free kit.

Anyway the fees for 2009 have gone up quite a bit so I'm reviewing my options.

From the CSA's website I gather it's compulsory to be a member of a club in order to be seeded at CSA events.

If this is the case (perhaps someone can confirm?), what are the best value-for-money clubs out there? Are there any that offer free kit?

Which club do you ride for? Is it giving you a good deal?

I don't really mind which club I join so long as the kit isn't hideous and the club members don't have a reputation for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

The kit is VERY nice, comfortable shorts.

They not a racing club so everybody is so friendly and always talkative.

And you seem like a nice guy so I'll look after you and introduce you :)

Meet at melrose Arch sundays at 7....

I would love you to join :)

And...their credit crunch extends to no hospitality at the 94.7, one of the two biggest races in the country! Angry

Std Banks fees if you renew prior to 30 Nov are R 550 which includes a set of kit(shirt & bibs) and your CGC affiliation. You ain't not going to get cheaper than that.

Perhaps Thug, but it's always worth considering one's options before committing smiley4.gif

Michael, I think they do have hospitality for 94,7. It's at Chilli lane, isn't it?
