Well done Ruan !!!! Heard from Alan who said it took him a little over 6 hours to finish, which is just damn good in my books. Looking forward to riding with you guys this coming weekend, it's going to rock Smile

For the other guys here.... if you want to see what is possible on one wheel, go have a look at some of the videos we have up at AmaOneTya...

Ruan, apart from certain components, what are the differences between the Muni & the Cross.

Why should you purchase one over the other ?

I bought a unicycle for my dad (don't ask - long story) and I tried riding those things.  IT IS Deading hard to ride!  I couldn't stay on for more than a few seconds and my balance is fair.

Also, there is a tendency to overbalance and then your kinda "kick" your pedals to balance and this shoots the seat up and into your delicately hanging nads which recieve 1 x unicycle at full velocity.  Shocked Met eish ja!

Riding a unicycle over 90k's - a major achievement so really well done guys.

I know you asked Ruan the question, but figured I could answer as well. The main difference between the Cross and the MUni is strength basically. The MUni has a much stronger hub, rim, and cranks. It is know to be bomb proof and very few people have managed to damage one is any way.

The Cross is obviously not as strong, but it will stand up to a lot of punishment and depending on your weight could easily take drops of 5 foot. I ride with a Cross and am quite a heavy bugger, and still managed to take drops of 4 foot with ease on it. I did however bend the cranks that come standard with the Cross and after an upgrade it is rock solid.

If you have the extra R1000 and you want to take it a little more seriously then the MUni is the beast to go for. If you're concerned about cost and want to see whether it is something you want to do then go for the Cross. If you really enjoy MUni after that you can always ride the Cross into the ground (which would take some doing) and then upgrade to the MUni, and being only a fraction of the cost of a MTB you can't go wrong Smile
