I don't want to see anyone's butt crack whilst riding, men or women. Normal shorts tend to move down with movement and standing, then the chamois/padding moves around causing her to chafe.

Let her wear bibs, and it's really not such an issue to take them off to go to the loo. (start undressing in the queue to save time). Just make sure the padding/bib is women specific.

On my side honestly, I prefer bib shorts anyday, especially when racing as the strap on the stomach causes me issues....so I just suffer the consequences when needing a pee.

I think like Zoo said, it really is a personal thing....she'll have to find out what she prefers.

But maybe start with no bib as she can then use them in spinnign if she doesn't like them ont he bike!!

I used to wear only shorts until I tried bibs. Nowdays I only ever wear bibs. I find bibs are way more comfortable especially for long rides. When I wore shorts I only wore those with a drawstring as they were a better fit.

Good luck making a decision!

For myself, I would recommend Cape Storm (Stormrider) cycle shorts.  Have a very flattering panel design and comfortable shammy.  Have tried bib, but is real hassle when having to make a "visit".  Remember - comfort above all else!  Good luck - hope she has many hours of fun riding.

i'm with WW on this. I have only ever owned 2 pairs of shorts - first pair i ever bought and chucked them the day i first wore bibs. i now have bought another pair but for idt use only. to ride with shorts is VERY uncomforatble compared to bibs.

re the femmeplus - you still gotta pull the pants/shorts/bibs down. got a sample at a motorbiking event but haven't yet tried the things out (haven't been to a rally since i got the "goodie bag")

LOL. Thanks for that explanantion, but I taught my wife that from the first time she put her shorts on.

She was bit uncomfortable at first at the thought of not having any undies on, but I think she is glad now that I told her.

Sorry HR and TNT1 but this one is not for youWink

I have finally got my wife into cycling and she has joined my CC and now I want to buy her a club kit.

Seeing as women are a bit more endowed upstairs I was wondering if she should order the bib shorts or normal shorts?

Don't know if the straps on the bibshorts will cause unnecessary shaffing on her boobiesConfused...not that I would mind' date=' cause then it would give me reason to give them some much needed TLCWinkLOL

Nice that you're so concerned for your wife. Get her normal shorts, these will work MUCH better for women. She'll be grateful for it.Clap
