MTB is like a TT (Not a TTT!!!)' date=' everyone for himself and may the best rider win, if someone pulls a dirty one on you then you reply by out riding him fair and square....yes ride hard and dont give an inch but keep it fair.

Not sure when you last did a marathon at the front, SwissVan, but the racing up there is tactical. Maybe you're thinking about XC racing where team tactics are minimal.

Looong time ago, 2002 to be precise....after that it all went downhill (and no not like Greg Minaar type downhill more like Zim$ downhill...)

Thats the point, mtb marathon racing (1 day events anyway) never used to employ road team type tactics, imo 3 guys from 1 team boxing in 1 rider (which APPEARS to be the case here) or any other team type tactics is not mtbking.

I recall days when guys from the same sponsor (team??) used to ride the *** out of each other and who ever else was around. None of this waiting for your team mate so we can work together panzie stuff....

Yeah, with you on this SwissVan. Always used to be that the first person you needed to beat was the guy in the same jersey as yours, then you worry about the rest.

AS a person who is in the sport on all ends of things thinks that men should be men...Racing is racing boys and if you through a punch expect one back..

But what happens on the field should stay on the field, if you big enough to start a fight don't go and cry for help afterwards if you get dealt.

Racing is racing and a lot of things happen out there when the heat is on, but surely we are all man enough to shake hands afterwards and go have a beer and a laugh about it.

Surely we dont need to act like 6 year old boys who got a hiding and get 1000 people involved and get into he said, she said...

We are a smaller sport than all the big sports and we need to stand together as a sport and grow it and look after the people who are involved, this kind of pettiness from our PRO's isn't going to help do this at all.

I say suck it up, find a bar, have a tequilla and let the racing continue, dont switch unless you prepared to be switched and maybe dont switch at all in the first place, if you cant win by your won strength, then why resort to dirty measures and then even if you do get switched, your a PRO and you should retailate with tit for tat, be the pro and win the race, be the bigger man at all times guys

You do have younger kids looking up to you...

did a triathelon last year... was swimming in the front middle of the bunch when a guy behind me grabbed my foot and pulled himself right over me and went on kicking klapping me in the face with his feet as I was trying to get some water out of my loungs and put my goggles back on but I had to just carry on swimming, If you stop in the middle of the bunch you will get mowed down by a million swimmers. And drown...and this was my first TRI..Cry

I thought of crying, quitting, starting a thread on the hub or "my tri", but instead I went to the toilet to go sh*t out some water I swallowed earlyer,

and then I read something in the "tips" page of the magazine we received with the goodybags.

..... It said, for newbies stand on the side for the swim cause in the middle it gets rough!

when the going gets rough, the rough gets going.

who ever said competition was friendly. thats why there are "FRIENDLY" matches and funrides

(I kow this is over but I rocked up late CAUSE NO ONE INVITED ME,  had to have my say otherwise I would have never slept tonight)LOLLOLLOL

Thanks putty' date=' just makes me cross...we should be building things up not breaking it down [/quote']

I'm with you on this one...

Keep it on the field - the Hub vivisection, facebook page, race protest etc was all unecessary - let's concentrate on the beauty of the sport rather than trying to expose a supposed dirty under belly based on half truths, speculation,  3rd hand stories and if/but/maybes....

This is really a shame. I wonder how Brandon's sponsor feels about being associated with such a reckless person who blatantly causes someone harm in the true an eye for an eye style.

Apparently the post race investigation into the matter revealed that it was not really a switch by Kevin and that Brandon made a bit of a turn off road. Apparently confirmed by Brandon. This seems to be like Mountain Bike gangsterism by Brandon and his team mates. Maybe they still hurt from all the beatings they had to endear from Kevin in the past.

Bottomline is Brandon accepted the comm's decision and now cries in the media about it. Also not necesary to bad mouth other riders.

Maybe Brandon should be suspended for a few months for bringing the sport in disripute.

What do you think? Bicycle hooliganism!!!!!!
