Just started using Tubular tyres and notice they lose air VERY quickly, about 2 to 3 bars of pressure per day. Is this normal and no they dont have a puncture.CAADman2009-02-02 07:11:29

Yes, they loose air very quickly....depends on the tube inside...

 

I heard a long story once why this was so......can't remember why...

But my Vittoria tyres went flat within a week.

It has to do with the tube material. If it is a latex tube (long condom), then it will lose air quickly. Butyl tubes (black stuff) holds air better.

 

Anything classed as lightweight is probably a latex tube.

 

Tubbies belong in a museum. Get clinchers.
