Thug Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 IT makes it easier to find a puncture. ??? So the ease in finding the hole is purely down to making sure the logo lines up with valve and common sense plays no part in determining where the hole is ? Before I say what utter ***, let me do a JB and ask if you have any empirical evidence to present that by having the logo line up with the valve, its easier to find the puncture ?

(omg, now my head hurts from all the big words) ...
Zaskar Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I used to care, and be really fussy about the logo and the valve etc, but now I dont really give a damn. I just put it on, and the logo goes where it wants to. When I stand back and look, it just looks cool. But then maybe thats because there are more to my bikes than the tires / wheels that make them cool. (Also with Tubbies you dont have a choice where the logo goes! )

jmaccelari Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I always align the logo and the valve so if I need to access the valve for whatever reason, I can find it. It's amazing how elusive they can be...

Nancy Drew Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 [quote=holy rollerif i was the bike shop person' date= you would've been wearing your silly wheel around your neck! [/quote] It's called pride in your work. If you see a photo of a bike. The valve on the wheels are at the top and the the rim logos at the bottom. It just make sense to put the hub upright aswell. .. Pride? or crazy psychotic obsession?
fiasm Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 IT makes it easier to find a puncture. But if you think that is anal. I had a bike shop rebuild my wheels because the valve hole did not line up with the writing on the hub. If I look through the valve hole' date=' I want to see the logo on the hub. The writing on the rim must also face the same direction. [/quote'] do you have your riding shirts hanging in the closet with matching shoes lined up below and your bicycling magazines filed in date order too?
Fleming Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 Now you gonna laugh but I have my clothes hangers color coded. Red for work pants, grey for casual pants, white for work shirts, blue for casual shirts and black for jackets. Its strange but thats how I roll.
