"buy a 10k bike and train 5 hours extra a week. then you can beat all the guys on 70k bikes" LOL So very true

Wow 70k! Man if you want to spend that much on a bike a i would suggest not rushing into anything at the moment. Do your self a favor and go to shops that actually give test rides of the the bikes they sell and decide from there. Bicycles are so subjective to what makes the rider fell comfortably. There are so many out there from stiff to felxy from compact to standard so deciding what to by can be hard!

My current bike was bought from a real helpful dealer who aloud me to take it on a number of test runs and help me choose the right componentry that would suit my racing needs and style, now im able to compete at the highest level of U23 cycling in SA!! So do your self a favor and give Glen Campbell from Cycle Boys a call on  011 391-8144

Heres a pic of my baby

Lets just say im not one of those small average cyclist + i push out alot of power! All i can say is that it is one of the stiffest frames iv ridding so far. I spend about about 20hrs on a bike a week so for me a bike needs to be comfortable, this one is. When it comes to that final sprint... i just cant even explane to you how the bike feels under you. IT JUST WANTS TO GO!!!! ++ It looks realy good!

Becks, anything Protour teams ride these days has the R&D to deliver a great product. Pina, Bianchi, Trek, Orbea, Fokus, Scott, Cannondale, Felt, Wieler, Ridley, Specialised, Cervelo...

I can only recommend that spending money on high end race wheels and any of the above frames will probably be best bang for bucks. Groupo's is secondary

Just read a thread on weightweenies where the guys riding the stuff are saying that there's NO advantage of Super Record over Record just as an example

Just remember: when selling, no one wants a second hand carbon bike (hidden cracks warranty and all that nonsense) so you look at it that way, Litespeed titanium with campag super record  will be you best return in value later on, just thinking out loud.

By my calculations, and taking into account familia rates v. retail and exchange rate conversions, you seem to have enough for a Colnago, Carrera or Pinarello-with Campag of course. Does that answer your question?

Interesting how many people feel the need to give financial advice to a guy that can afford to buy an R70k bike!!<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Same as asking someone why he would pay 40 bucks for a cup of coffee when he can get the same cup at wimpy for R10.00!!

Dude if you can afford it then you have earned the right to buy the best out there...even if it does not make any sense to some!!

Go for the Trek or the Cervelo!!!<?: prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" />

Spinnekop rides a Cannondale so that can't be good for their Market Value....LOL

OK, my view is that  at  the top end there is not much difference between the bikes....get one that  turns you on! For example, I went through the same exercise last year and looked at  the trek and the cervelo. At  the end of the day I decided on the cervelo because it floats my boat. I have no regrets. However, if the cervelo does not float your boat don't get it. The trek is an awesome bike, so too the cannondale, specialized, merckx, pinnarello. At the end of the day you have to love how it looks and feels...so you must ride them before you buy them!
