but I thought MTB'ers is "tough" and a friendly bunch!! since the epic this year i know that is not true!!Wink

I'll cut your fingers off if you grab onto my pockets so that you can be towed LOL

I had a buddy many many moons ago and we had the exact same Honda MBX 50's (year, make, model, black tank). I once rode a bit ahead of him when we had a dice because i had an empty tank and he just filled his, he pulled his way past me by hanging onto the carrier on the back. I was very 'die moer in' with him and told him it's dangerous. He said: "What's a bit of towing between friends boet?" Confused

Absolutely pathetic. And I suppose these women want the same prize money as the men?

i gotta agree with you. if the rules explicitly dissalow it, how can she still be in contention. they should kick them out of the race and send them home

Depends on the Epics definition of "towing"

I suspect as Flea mentioned that the rule refers to being towed by a rope or "tokkel tou" (howz that for an old army word??).

Alison Syder is no slouch on a bike and hanging on to your partner with one hand while trying to steer with the other can't be that easy on a mtb and the epic route.

But yeah another rule they need to improve, should not be permitted unless your chain is broken and you cannot pedal.

The "no towing" was in the earlier Epic's the pair were joined by a rope and the male pulled the femail - think it was a German pair. So no they are not pulled' date=' but "hang-on"....[/quote']

Yip, they were leading and on the last day they crashed out (due to the bungee rope!) and I think that contributed to it's ban.  Quite silly if you think back to it even being allowed back then

BTW' date=' it is easier for her to hang on than the poor guy to push, imagine that, legs and arms then totally buggered up

[/quote']

look, props to the lady for hanging on and riding off road at the same time. that cant be easy to do.

but i think the argument is that, if songo were penalized for their infringement, howcome these 2 arent getting penalties?

The other mixed teams must be spitting mad. Or maybe they're doing the same thing but their man isnt as strong?

Probably because the definition of towing "probably" meant the use of a tow rope or something like and not an arm.
