I use lockout all the time. Going uphills it makes a huge difference especially when standing. You don't waste energy being pushed down into the fork, everything goes into the backwheel.

Or you lot of weirdos could learn to ride uphill without bouncing so much, and then you wont need lockout, or, sell your fancy crap and get a rigid ss?

JB removed my lockout from my reba and replaced it with just an air cap, saved me around 200g if i remember correctly, not a fan of lockout anyway,

I lock mine if my 6 year old is getting a lift on the top tube, else no.

Prefer it active when climbing as well, front wont't lift for small bumps, so steering & control is better. Sometimes will lock it on tar but most times I do not bother. Dart 3.

According to the Fox manual you should lock-out on firm terrain and climbs for better control. Less bobbing and sag on the uphills. I frequently use the lock-out and get better control on the front wheel up steep climbs. Set the lock-out blow-off threshold so that when you forget to unlock or hit bumps on the acsent' date=' the fork will still be active and "blow off". All this according to the Fox manual.

Agree with Kevin...It's there so use the thing for whats it is meant to do...If you climbing you should be locked out.

depends on the type of climbing. if it's a rocky, technical ascent, i'd prefer using the suspension. the bike will track better.
