I threw my gel flask off side of bridge at world champs in a moment of anger and made sure it was close to feeding zone where it was to be picked up with rest of water sachets etc...and have already admitted it was wrong and was this very instint that had me thinking about how to combat littering. 2. We did introduce the big gel bottles with gle flasks so that you wouldnt have sachets in your pocket and messing up your jerseys, the response to this product has been slow and its weird that after 21 pages of talking here, i have a solution and still nobody really goes out and supports what we are trying to do 3. I dont spend that much time on the hub so in future if there is something you want to me to comment or respond on then please let me know...i dont sit at a desk all day 4. HUBBERS have too much time on their hands. 5. We have over 120 athletes and i cant baby sit all of them, what happened was wrong and i have made a effort to get hold of Greg today to talk to him about what happened and the correct steps will be taken to rectify the situation. 6. WE have all littered at some point in our lives... 7. JB your attitude could maybe have been a bit different as in " Morning, could you please not litter here...thanks..." kind of thing...not sure how you did approach it but we all grown men and surely dont need to get into argument over litter. 8. People really love a juicy story...i mean i think we should all complain more but do it in the right channels, if a bike store makes a mistake, take it up with the owner...dont come and have 200 threads on the hub before the owner has even had a chance to do anything about it... 9. WHASP is trying to stop littering, dont see any other brands out there as active as we are and trying to stop it, show me another active brand like mine which listens to the hubbers and makes products and solves problems like we do... 10. I didnt race the ironman and so was jogging to loosen up after 21km run on sunday. 11. I agree the way Greg responded wasnt right and i will be having words with him over it.. 12. Greg has been a great ambassodor both on and off the field and we all have heated moments, its not nice to be attacked by 30 people, we all make mistakes and i am sure he will put out a apology on this matter soon. 13. lets focus on bigger problems and work together to grow the brands and the sport which we love so much, support the shops and brands which are pro active and trying to make a difference. 14. Spread LOVE...we all passionate and love to have our say but lets remember to say it with respect and love... 15. Smile more and not let people get your back up so easily. 16. Take a gel on every ride, even if on a training ride, you never know when you might need it, you can always bring it home but you cant always come back and fetch one. 17. I agree with the concept of don't litter and keep my own trash for the waterpoints or finish line but FFS 22 pages for what? It was entertaining but just got to be a bit much. Just haul out the pitchforks and torches. Then the whasp dude essentially calls you all a bunch of kids and you love it. He is however right. The one JB(he) picked up, must then have been empty? Why carry empty sachets in yr pockets, or was it there from the previous ride?I dont wanna judge, but you seem to be in the wrong here Greg. [/quote'] As a KZN'er I must say that the distribution/marketing of these flasks seems a bit slow (in the Durban area at least). I was dead keen on the idea (spotted them in the Dischem at Fourways Mall after the Argus), then enquired with my Cycling Club regarding getting them through a local distributor. So I'm (soon to be) sorted, but this particular version of the product does not seem to make many appearances "in the wild" down here. I think that the flasks are a brilliant idea. Pornstar Posted April 7, 2009 Share Hi We are available at dischems counrty wide and im working on the bike stores...even though dischem sell close to the prices in bike stores ( THEREFORE NOT UNDER CUTTING PRICES ) bike stores still not keen on my brand, even though they stock all of the other brands that are in dischem that sell for sometimes 30% cheaper than in their stores. amateur Posted April 7, 2009 Share well personally I think ,if one of the main focusses of the brand is to stop littering then the first people who should have the little bottle is the ambasodors. I am not one and I have one and didn't find it that difficult to find. Maybe pornstar should supply his ambasodors first, so things like this don't happen. And I don't for one minute believe that Johan spoke to this greg guy with a bad attitude to start. That is not the type of person he is.
