who to shake your crank at then: the clients who complain and whom Remo's must try to accomodate, or Remo's themselves? I cycle till i sweat like all hubbers, but my word, i find other ppl's sweat and stank as horrid as anyone else. Simple case of time and place for everything.

Strange.

This is quite an about face by Remos management.  They are normally very cyclist friendly.

I go to Remos after my Caneride most weekends. We dont want to wreck their furniture so we normally take our own towels to sit on or Remos whip out a Cyclelab towel if you forget to bring one.

Maybe managment have forgotten that the sweaty MTB cyclist on the weekend is also the one bringing his corporate clients for a lunch meal during the week.

Ah well, guess I will be doing my after ride brekkers and corporate meals elsewhere in future.

Business would be great if it wasn't for those bloody customers ! Perhaps they could have an appropriate "cyclists section" and get their staff to wear Michael Jackson masks. In these tough times you would think businesses like this would be a bit more innovative and accomodating. It's not like we're smokers after all !

Go on Crow. You go and ask them if this is true. The whole 2oceansvibe anti-cyclist bullsh*t is also getting really cheesy. But you know what they say, don't ever challenge the man with the microphone! Those who know Seth Rotherham, know, that to take him seriously, is a complete waste of grey matter.Wink

where are they in Slaapstad

Spending too much time in the sun in Afkakistan?

'This, from Remo?s restaurant, just outside Mount Edgecombe estate in Umhlanga.'

Maybe we could collectively let Remo's know that our sweaty and also after shower business will be taken somewhere else, and also point them to the 2oceansvibe website to highlight the excellent advertisement.

As far as I know you are not allowed to use another company's name on your website without their permission. People let it slide because it is generally harmless.....Ouch We can create the impression that this is harmfull to business, maybe kick 2oceansvibe in the nuts in the same move.

I agree wit modder. I think its farking disgusting having some sweaty smelly person come and sit next to me if im trying to have a nice breakfast with my wife/friends/etc

Got to agree no cyclist smells great after a long ride, especially in the humid climate of KZN. While I understand Remo's is the place to be after heading into the cane fields, I also clearly understand their potential stand point on the not so fine smelling cyclists.

That said I was there about a week ago and never noted this in their menu's. Not that I was looking however.

business is business.  If they feel that they are going to lose more business by accomodating cycles, than what they would gain, then this is a fair discision.  Only their profits will tell.  However, if it can be proven that cyclists that used to frequent that place were neither sweaty nor unhygenic then there is a case for the CONcourt regarding human rights violation and/or defamation of character.  After all some Capetownians are only posers and wear cycling kit to pick up men.
