Anyone training in the Westrand in GP??

I am looking for some people to train with in the week days in the West Rand area - Hopefully meet on Hendrik Potgieter somewhere and go out towards Komdraai/Krugersdorp/Beyers Naude and the surrounding areas.

 

I want to be on the road from about 05h30 / 06h00 and can ride for a 1h30min

 

Anyone keen or anyone doing this already?

 

Pace can be medium to hard, anything to do some week day training.

Hi quinton,

 

Slowpoke and I meet at the BP on JG Strydom at 5am and ride til 6am (20-22km). We ride up to Trade Centre, up Golf Club Terrace to Constantia Drive, across Hendrik Potgieter towards Rock Cottage, and another loop to Lifestyle.

 

You can add a bit extra on the end to make it 1:30.

Geeeezzz... you are brave riding on HP that time of the morning......

Cycle Junkie, we cross over HP onto side roads not sure if I made that clear?). HP is a nono at almost any time, don't like riding there. But the sideroads are OK (Once you've dealt with Kojack the crazy German Shepherd).

 

My favourite though is to stay off the roads, waaay off the roads on the footpaths (read customised singletrack!)

When I get back to morning rides I will let you know. I use to go out on Ontdekkers, down Hillsnax and back on Hendrik Potgieter. Started at 5:00 and finished by 7:00.

I am looking to go out on HP towards the Komdraai area and back, A nice 40-60km ride and not much in traffic. You only have the HP stretch up unto N14 that is a little rough

We ride hills in Northcliff on 2 mornings a week.

My chance to be humbled and do my impression of a wounded buffalo. Almost no traffic, just the gentle sounds of birds singing and me sucking air.
