Dave

I for one think that you have only your interests at heart when it comes to cycling. I met you a few years back and had that exact feeling first time I saw you.You have done nothing other than promote yourself and your mates. I cannot see one thing better since you or your buddies have taken over. You did nothinbg for WPPPA and you are doing nothing for CSA.

The sport would be much better off without you and co. And, I think you know it.

Lomgbow thanks for your honesty as well. I am extremely interested to know exactly what these interests of mine are. I respect your view point and am sure that there are those out there that share your sentiments. It is however sad that you have chosen to hurl your insults from behind the cover of a "nickname". It is easy for you to cast dispersions without understanding the complexities of what it is we are doing and the enormity of the task at hand, should you or anyone else for that matter wish to fulfill the role I have been asked to, please feel free to give me a shout.

So' date=' are you not organising the event in 2008?

I was only contracted for one year, and we have not started any negotiations re the future...(I am probably going to suffer a conflict of interest what with my position within CSA - or just too much work etc.)

AGAIN & Again this forum is used to take make slipshot & slanderous comments, its very easy to hide behind your PC AND SLING sh*te from behind your anomonity of the web.

Dave Bellairs has been extremly helpful to me on two occasions this year already, he has the cyclists interest at heart and I think the job that he does is thankless, it seems to me that the infighting in CSA makes positions within the organisation practically unbearable.

An International Commissaire spoke to me after the Argus and said it was sickining the level of backstabbing in the sport in general here in south Africa. If people came up with solutions rather than problems then the sport would move forward.

if you are not involved at club/provincial level in cycling and only ride your bike for fun or to race, you really don't know the complexities of our sport at management level. IMO i think that since Bellairs and Whittikar have been on the exco of the CSA they have realised the "importance" of the licensed cyclist and the uphill struggle the provincial bodies have in keeping the standard of racing at an acceptable level. 2008 will be a very interesting year and will be a make or break for cycling.

You guys are making this board poor taste. It's one thing to debate issues but your posts are way over the top.

I don't know what to believe anymore.  Anyone on this site real or are you all taking on fake personalities?!  <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

At least I know Latrinus is kinda real...

Getting the sponsorship for our (only remaining) UCI event should be high up on any CSA employee's list.  Might become another Tour of Maloti/Durban embarrassment.

In the mean tim I will trust you bigshots will sort it all out in time and give us another brilliant Giro/Cycle Tour.  I really enjoyed this year?s effort and hope it is going to continue. PLEEEEEZ!Thumbs%20Up

I agree with Willehond. It was a VERY enjoyable Giro and would love to see the Giro next year.

Those who can do - those who can't criticize. David does and gets critised, and judging by the comments out there - there a lot of useless F..k criticing.

Like him or hate him (and his mates), I can assure you the sport would be in a far worse position without him.
