Seems the main difference between this and the Chorus and records is material and weight. The mechanism seems to be exactly the same for all the gruppos, ie, you can drop from big sprocket to small with one click of the button.

Interesting, thanks Para.

Nice to see the weight so low at just 2.2kg!

I really don't think the extra speed was necessary though. I mean what is wrong with 10? It just creates more compatibility issues.

Me thinks para is a closet campy fan

How do you think I know all this stuff. smiley2.gif

Seriously, I think I would have stuck with campy, yes I did use it at one stage, if it was not for the price and availablity of stock. And how can you be a true follower if you brand does not cater for all your needs. They do not make MTB parts. So how can you be "campy is the best and all else is crap" if you sit with Shimano or Sram on your MTB.

I'm sure the FB stuff is vaporware, have only ever seen official Campy pictures. Would love a set of Chorus FB shifters.

Mampara is right about the replacement parts thing. I'm a Scampy lover, but some of the prices quoted by J&J are just crazy.

Like R600 for 4 replacement spokes for my electrons. And you can only buy a set of four. R250 for an ergolever clamp which shouldn't cost more than R15. R350 for a BB tool with no handle; local equivalent is R25. It's just gouging, and it is not good for customer loyalty.

I'm fairly certain now that my next groupset will be Dura Ace. The shape of the levers is very similar to Campy now.
