now, i like the fact the bike park allows so many kids the opportunity to ride in a safe environment, but people can you please get the littlies to stay off the black trails? twice yesterday i came to grief because of kids walking their bikes through angle grinder!

Thank you!!! And in single file!!! Herds of kids kept making us stop our riding on Saturday to let them past. Saw a little one on drop zone struggling on the flats, then another one on Ewok with his dad walking behind him! What the??????

Kinda frustrating when you are trying to get some training in.

di, i am usually a patient person, but yesterday they were a real hazard! one kid had stopped on that new section of wooden bridge on the other side of the highway, and left his bike right in the middle of it!

BRING BACK KASBU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is also a major danger on a route like Ewok which has lots of sharp turns - if you are taking that fast and there is a kid in the middle, eish... I am also generally patient and love seeing kids there but I get major irritated when they are in herds and you cannot pass them even on the arterial roads or when they are being a danger to themselves by doing tricky routes.

On weekends it is a real problem. I'll actually bring it up next time I chat with Riaan. I've actually seen a dad taking a nose dive down the one 'roll-down' in Drop Zone while walking his kid through. I had such a good chuckle!

They also wreak havoc on the Trials course. When we arrive to ride there's normally pallets and planks all over the place. Very irritating.

I just can't think of a good solution. Maybe they can get teams of riders to patrol the park, can't really think of anything better.

Well' date=' it's nice to know that when I do eventually venture out there with my boys we're gonna be more of a nuisance than it's worth

But I heard your kids are faster than you? Just point them in the right direction and you'll be fine. Tongue

not at all, nancy. some people supervise their kids nicely, and make way or yield. i'm more than prepared to sit behind some dad or mom and their little ones on the singletrack. they've paid to ride just like i have. it's on the routes they shouldn't be - or taking up the whole of the perimeter route - that they become a problem.

Nancy, I am sure no one will moan. I have never met you but you seem to be rather sensible and wont expose your boys or anyone else to a risk unnecessarily. There are lots of parents who are sensible and ride with the kids, keeping them on tracks where the kids can handle it. The fact that parents are walking behind their kids is against park rules as there is a sign saying no pedestrians past a certain point.

Ah I feel for you guys. I remember how paranoyed I use to get when kids from the neighbourhood would come play at my Jumps, Donno why but It seemed they would always try stand on the lips of the jumps and obviously If to many of them do this the lip would break off. I spent many hours cursing those little devels while fixing lips..Angry

Hope you guys get It sorted before someone gets in the way or gets hort.
