What difference does a frame make?

Ok, this might sound very stupid......

but what difference does a frame really make?

Everybody is raving about Morewood XC frames the last couple of weeks.... what is that about?

I am not ripping Morewood or anything like that, this argument is for all bikes....

Does one frame really differ that much from the next?

I ride a Mongoose Canaan, prior to that a cheap hardtail, so I don't have lots of frame experience.... just wondering.....

Please give your 2c......

If you dont think it makes a difference, why did you change from a cheap hartail to your Mongoose?

If you are not a racer and have alot of experience you will not note the difference. You might note that the ride is softer or harder or it bobs when you pedal but not the stiffness issue oh and maybe weight difference. Us mortals will just play along and spend our money on stuff that looks good and will impress our peers.

I think frames tell a lot about their owners....

Raleigh = Fat Funrider

Trek = Lance wannabe

Morewood = MTBer with too much money - probibly bold

Cannondale = Full blooded racer

Specialized = Infurior complex - constantly needs to know he is special(ized)

Door = me

Ok, so I have a Trek (road) and a Morewood... I'm slow, skint and I have hair. The exception that proves the rule?
