Just a comment about both CycleArt and the LBS in question.

I had a Marin Mount Vision repainted by CycleArt about 3 years ago. They did an excellent job. I was extremely happy with the result

I have had dealings with the LBS in question over the last 6-7 years and have never been disappointed with their service. In fact I am prepared to travel from the East of Pretoria to Krugersdorp to have my Marin serviced by Eben and his shop. I in fact had my bike serviced by him as recently as last week. Rode it at Groenkloof on Saturday. It performed and handled perfectly.

I would have no hesitation in recommending both Cycleart and Eben at the LBS in question.

This unfortunate episode seems to be an exception to the good service normally to be expected and in fact received from both Cycleart and the LBS.

It would still be nice to see a pic of the fingerprint.

Well' date=' if I comment I will either be asked to not talk about it or the buyer of my frame will want his money back. Let just say my job looked nice from a distance but on close inspection you can see it is not on par. Or maybe my standards are just a bit higher then others. And I'm still waiting for reply to what is gonna be done about it. Last correspondence was 19/03 with the opening line "I will contact you again as soon as I?ve had a good look at the pictures...". It does not matter now as I have sold the frame.[/quote']

DONT be afraid Mampara you can talk......Ive had nothing but poor Service from CycleArt my calls were never returned, my friend is still waiting for a quote on 2 frames....it seems that they are selective in their choice of customers....

Mampara expose your story and Pics (INCASE you wondering I bought Mampara`s Frame)

I wont be returning it to you Mampara but if there is recourse like you would like I wouldnt say no to a free respray on CycleArts side I will even deliver the frame to them directly and collect it.

This message is for Mampara and Rad006 - firstly, the paint job in question was done exactly to your specs, you sent us drawings and we followed your instructions to the dot.....after the job was finished we sent you a picture - you were unhappy that a line went through your cable guide and you then requested us to go around the cable guide - which we did, the frame was then delivered to you.  A  week later you complained that the paint was still soft - can't remember why, but I was at your office and the paint looked fine to me but I asked that you wait a bit an see what happens...a year later you started to complain on the Hub about the soft paint - you never phoned us during the entire year (not once) then you complained again over the Hub telling people that the paint is peeling off the frame and I asked you to send me pictures which you did, one would need a magnifying glass to see where the paint is peeling off (under the BB), this could have happened at any time when you were out riding, a stone or anything could have caused this.  We are not prepared to give you a respray so please put this to bed now as it's starting to wear rather thin and we are sick and tired of your constant degrading remarks!  As for the poor service are you sure you are dialing the correct number?  We return all of our calls and e-mails, it might take a few days but we get to it eventually! Lilian

The paint is not peeling from below the BB but at the shock mount. Yes you can not see it if you are not looking for it but is is there. The other stuff I did not even mention, and very willing to ask Rad to bring the bike to me so that I can take more photos, are stuff like logos not being in proportion (remember I supplied the artwork on disk which you are proberbly now keeping as your own), overspray from masks not tacked down properly and then touched up with a paint brush.

The paint not being dry was raised and you said it can take up to 3 month for it to dry, well it's been a year.

Here's the pics from the paint peeling and do not tell me it is from cleaning it incorectly. I use car shampoo and the paint is not peeling of my car.
