Suspension Bearing Kits

Anyboday know where I can find a replacement bearing kit for my Specialized Epic.

I was quoted a R1100 from the LBS just for the kit, fitting not included.

This is a bit on the expencive side and thought if I could source the spares needed I can give replacing it myself a bash.

Any advice and info would be appreciated.

Thanks

You've got a R30 000 bike and you complain about the upkeep? It's like moaning that your AMG63 uses too much petrol.

I'm in the process of doing my Commencal Meta.

It too 6 x 608 - 2RS (R90), 4 x 6805 (R120) and I needed to replace a pivot axel (R0 - Thanks Graham/JL), replace Fox Bushing (R80 - RIP OFF) and I still need to get the alu reducers, apprently for R150'ish.

So, parts R440.00 (including cost of R80.00 bush). Also keep in mind that 've used the cheapest bearings I could find.

I also needed a couple of tools to help coax the bearings out and back in and some time, to trawl the net on how too get it done (Commencal Owners Club site was great!) and petrol money to collect all the parts.

I might be wrong but you screwed as SPEZ use special bearings that you cant get anywhere else...

I paid R500 and that was cost for my Anthem bearings...

Now I have a SC Superlight and thank goodness only 2 bearings

Wish I had a solution for you at the moment, BUT we have taken on the Enduro agency for SA and will be supplying both hub and suspension bearing kits along with their line up of additional products. ETA is still about 8 weeks though :(

Keep your eyes peeled www.rushsports.co.za Its coming!

I contacted Spez in UK for the correct bearing numbers last month when the ref numbers & dimensions of the original supplied bearings did not match bearing catalog ref numbers & dimensions. I did not need the full kit, just two specific bearings. (the reason is a different story Confused)

I have the email address of the technical person that responded on my request with the correct bearing reference numbers, just PM me if you are interested.

I was a bit "shocked" what the bearings cost me at the end of the day. I assume it is because I payed in Euros and don't know the right places to shop here (yet) Hopefully Bearing man can sort you out.

The bearing kits are very expensive, this I can confirm.

Which bearings do you need and how do you plan on removing and installing them ?

Maybe I can help.

Thanks Summit,Took my bike to the LBS yesterday as I needed the rear shock serviced, asked them to have a look at the linkages as there is some play. They said that the bearings needed replacement and that it only comes in a kit form from the agent

I have no idea witch ones are stuffed only getting the bike back later this week, will have a look then and try figure out how to go about it.

Thanks for offering your help will send you a pm if i need to take you up on your offer.
