So did he race in the SA champ colours?

No' date=' for some reason the national champ kit is not worn in a world cup race.  Everyone rides in national colours (hence the green animal print kit...)

Oh my word. I thought that kit died a silent death in the 90's. I hate that kit......

Indeed.  It seems to be invincible.  I would love to ride in some SA kit over here, but just can't get myself to buy THAT jersey...

imo THAT jersey should not be for sale, only peps who are awarded it should have one.

BTW welcome back wildog, where've you been?

Agree on the National Champ kit being reserved, but the national team kit is OK to wear IMO, if it's not animal printDead.

Swiss, been doing some climbing in france! Lekka holiday:

  • 2 weeks later...

however I was referring to the stripes on the sleeves' date=' every time he has a sponsor make a up a jersey he gets to say "excuse me mate, you forgot my stripes on the sleeves...."[/quote']

no, he can't. That means if you win champs in under 9s you can wear it untill you are a grand master. You can only wear it while in that category and age group.

you are quite right sir......no worries he'll win elites one day soon....

1.3.064 When he no longer holds the title of world champion, a rider may wear rainbow piping on the collar and cuffs of

his jersey as per the technical specifications in the brochure which will be sent to him by the UCI. However, he

may wear such a jersey only in events of the discipline, speciality and category in which he won the title and in

no other event.

hey mampara, don't mean to flog a dead horse, but i noticed quite a few guys at the Bromont world cup with rainbow sleeves, including nino schurter (before he won elite worlds this year) and ralph naf (previous marathon world champ) and Hermida.

Now I know hermida has been a junior or U23 world champ, definiely not elite, neither has Naf, but I think the common thread with those 3 guys is world relay champs?

so I'm still curious if he gets the sleeves or not?
