You missed out! I started the ride with a beer and ended it with a few more! smiley4.gif

Jules managed to squeeze a quart in at the shebeen other side of Breedts

Nek.

I believe he got home singing and dancing (on the pedals as per Phil L.)...

Anton: **** me. How you got that bloody single speed rigid 29er up' date=' down and back up Breedt's Neck amazes me. My vote for "Hardcore Hubber" of the day...It was embarrassing watching you disappear up the hilll...

Thanks for the great day, Nancy! The hospitality from you and your family was again much appreciated.

Anton, I'd sooner ride up Breedt's with four quarts inside me than tackle it on a single speed ;) The only side effect was my cycling companions complaining of a beer smell on the way back smiley4.gif .

Thanks to epoh, Jmaccelari, Zaskar and Thuggy for a good long day in the saddle. With our ride there, we each clocked a minimum of about 120km in total.

Thanks guys!  It was a fantastic day and just the way to start my official leave Smile

The little marshalls especially requested to be woken early and were very excited about wearing 'official' bibs and directing traffic - they were stars (oh they got paid for their efforts too) Thumbs%20Up

My family were great and I really couldn't pull something like this off without all their help.  I had nothing (or very little) to do with the boerie rolls, but they were a great way to end a ride. Thanks to my brother-in-law Ian for braaing and my sister and folks for organising everything else while I was having a great ride! Clap.

Then to all you guys and girls that pitched for the ride.. it wouldn't be a ride without all the cyclists so you guys made it! What a nice crowd and great vibe! was good to see old faces and meet some new ones.

Thank you for all the contributions towards FORA and a big thanks to amateur and zaskar for ferrying the donations to the deserving beneficiaries.

wow.. I feel like I'm delivering an Oscar speech here.

thanks to all my fans and ....

I had a lovely day in the saddle here in the beautiful George area. Coming up Montegu pass yesterday was every bit as challenging as going down the pass today

But I just could not help thinking about what I was missing out on that side.

Nancy count me in for next time. smiley1.gif
