Cost of built-up bike

If I build-up a bike from bits and pieces bought on the web and over a two year period I pay:

 

R3000 for a frame;

R2000 for a set of wheels;

R2000 for a fork;

R2000 for a crankset & brakes;

R2000 for  handlebars, stem, seat post and saddle,

it cost you 2 years of not being able to ride it cause it was half built!!

I built my roadie up over a while on the hub. It took longer but in the end I got exactly what I wanted.

Took me three months but I ended up getting most of the bits from CRC its just too easy to spend money you dont have there ....

once you start you cant stop, i built my bike in one month although that wasn't really the plan.  As soon as it started taking shape i just wanted to get it done and ride it even if it was being built as a training bike!
