Has anyone had a steerer tube replaced in Rockshox forks?

My forks were originally fitted in a medium frame, which has since been replaced by a large frame and the steerer is now too short. (It was probably already too short on the med frame too.)

I'm getting tired of numb hands and uncomfortable position - I'm too old for full on racing posture... smiley19.gif

Gave them a call - they reckon you can't replace the steerer tube as a new one will work loose.

They do say that you can buy a new steerer tube / header / outer fork tubes unit and then replace the rest with your original components.

Probably looking at R2k+.

I have heard that someone did get their steerer replaced tho.

but that is actually all the working pars of the for. The lowers are just there to keep the oil clean and attach the wheel.

If you are going to go that route, sommer get the lowers repainted.

Call Geco Cycles. Had my previous Fox steerer replaced. Steerer is like R150 or R200.   021-9823446

Can they replace the steerers on road forks too?

Not sure - maybe give them a shout?
