On saturday i went and bought my wife a polar F6 for her spinning and it as advertised in the polar display window for r1099. When i paid for the polar it rang up as r1199. ok so i complain to the sales guy who then spins me a tail of " its new stock" now its not a lot of money but its a good way towards a case of beer. I have prevoiusly also bought a Fox hydration pack from them and due to some handeling the bladder started leaking and i wanted to buy a replacement !!! what a mission AngryAngry it was and he tried to sell me a new one AngryAngry saying they dont stock replacements WTF camelback do !!!Dont they have stock lists on their pc's with what they can do or say to me we will try and get one for you ?????

So i just went home and logged on to Chain Reaction Cycles and ordered one from them .... far less hassels and better for my blood pressure .

Online shopping is the way to go !!! Due south wont see me in a hurry bunch of wankers !!!!

the missus told me to put it back but she really wanted a new one and its like giving a kid a prezzie then taking it away again so i said no i will take it but they will hear from me .....

some time ago i also had crap from Sportsmans who offered me compensation but i never took them up on it i just have not gone back there and never will !!!!

Next time tell them you are going to report them to the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority). It is against the law to charge a higher price than the one displayed. "The price you see is the price you pay"

The R100 is not the problem. The shops need to honour their ads and advertised shelve prices. I made a big fuss because I bought vegetable from our Spar and the shelve price was R2/kg cheaper then what the machine was programed. The lady just shrugged her shoulders and with a very long lip went to call the manager. I only saved like 80c but it's the principle that counts. Alot of people won't pick it up and a few 80c starts to become real money that the shop gets for mahala.

Technically, when you approach the till with a product, you are offering to buy the product at the price marked on the product/shelf. the shop may then accept or decline your offer.

I know it sounds the wrong way arround, but thats how it was taught to me in com law.

you 100% right mampara its the principal and not the money !!!

the poor service and the lack of trying to help me !!! now if he had called his manager and asked can we help this gentleman then i am sure they would have managed something but just the crap that its new stock chirp got up my nose and the hydration bladder fiasco !!!

VIVA CRC VIVA !!!

Giant is right, the price displayed is an offer towards negotiation (since people are human and errors can be made). This is not condoning bad service though, they should have apologised and explained it was an error or at the very least offered a discount or something.

The only reason I enter a Due South is to see what's nice. I then go find another store to purchase from. Its a principal matter for me not buy from a store were it sounds like a 2am disco and the staff are tooooo indulged in their own stuff and simply diss the customer.

I have had too many bad times in Due South stores to tempt me to part with any cash into their coffers.

LOLLOL 2am disco i heard it too !!!! i found it difficult to get someone to help me i had to go and fetch someone think that is where my problems started i must have disturbed them .....

Happened in a Sunglasses shop and the diff was R500 - told them it was illegal to try and sell at the higher price and they said "yes, we know".

Cuz I was with a visitor who was buying I didnt do the full song and dance routine, but made the statement and left them.

Technically, yes you are correct, but in principal this is not the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Case law has thrown a spanner in the works and this is no longer the case.  Basically, if it went to court, the price on the shelf is the price you pay. Period.

Hence, fight for the price you see (unless it is in excess of the scanned price!!!)

I bought a Suunto heart rate monitor from the Eastgate Due South branch last weekend, and the price once it was rung up was R349 less than they had advertised on thier website. Even on the box the old price had been crossed out and the new cheaper price had been stuck over it. When i asked why this was, they said it was new stock that came in at a better price! So you win some you loose some i suppose.
