First time I did this race and it was great, even though I had the flu and barely managed to limp across the finish.

Scenery from the top of that mountain almost justified the climb up and the descent, well, that justified every one of the metres up!

Well done to the organizers, participants and marshals and thanks for giving me an experience to remember.

IdeJongh: How did you go? 75 km next year?

Great race! Just love that 75km!

One prob, I see SS Timing missed me? A DNF for me????

Will have to contact them.

A mate of mine stopped off at Millys on the way to Barberton on Friday evening. Decided to have a chicken wrap to eat and was violently ill later that evening. Needless to say he didn't end up racing but managed to grab a lift with the lead vehicle and watch the race.

My first time for this race and I must say that it is a very cool event. I think I'll be back. Well organised, well sign posted and a really cool 75km outting. I think the fact that there in no single track on the route makes for a better race as there are no bottlenecks.

Only dissapointing thing is all the energy gels/bar packets that people insist on chucking on the ground.

Only got my max speed up to 59km/h

Also enjoyed the race, lot less mud than last year. One problem though is the fact that SS timing does not register chips at the start. Know some guys moved into earlier starting groups and got faster times as SS timing timed them from the later start.

Race was awesome, every pedal stroke was awesome, the view, the river crossings.  Slightly disappointed in my time, badly wanted a sub3 and ended up doing 3:06, but from now on its full marathon, so no looking back.

Sad to hear you had a rough time.

Riders weren't supposed to move around in batches at all, unless they got a different seeding at registration. Organisers should enforce the rule for everyone to stay put in their start group. But you'll always get the 'cheetas'.

I heard the comm. tell some guys, if they want to move back to a later group, they will carry the 5min for a later start.

Well, flu happens smiley7.gif

Still enjoyed myself, just much more slowly.

I think Sabie will be my last 45 after that I am committing to the full marathons too.
