So I have just got a phone call from a private number. Now I don't usually answer but since I am waiting for some important calls from people I know use private numbers I answer. It is some women identifying herself as from Nashua mobile wanting to give me a free Samsung phone but want me to pay for this or that. As I still have more than a year left on my current contract and very happy with my iPhone I do not need another phone. I also have a cheapy prepaid phone that I use for when I go riding. So I politely tell this woman that I do not need another phone and I am not interested in it. She gets all pushy and says that I can give it to a family member, who don't need another phone or have any desire whatsoever for another phone (she listed the features and my phone can do as much and more). I continue to tell her that I am not interested and have no use for it. She gets more pushy. In the end I simply put the phone down. I wish there was a way to stop these people from b****y phoning me!!! It just p****s the H3LL outa me! If I wanted more insurance, a new phone or whatever then I would contact the relevant people when I need to!

There is my rant for the day!

They drive you mad, even worse when you have a more than one phone line,....they just don't get the message that you don't want their product/service etc and then they get all miff about it!! The best way for me is to say 'Thanks but no thanks' if they get shirty after that just hang up!

A guy called my wife two days ago, and she was trying to feed my 12 week old son. When the guy asked if she had a few minutes, she said she didnt.

He then screamed at her...calling her a Bitch and slammed the phone down.

She unfortunately didnt get his name.

I asked if there was a way to stop receiving these calls cause i get them often' date=' particularly from cell providers. I was told you can sms your ID no to 34385 to opt out. [/quote']

Sounds too good to be true.

I wonder who owns that 34385 number?

They have to squeeze in as many of these calls as they an because in September they are not allowed to contacted you in any way if they do not have written permission to do so.

I see there is now a bot that randomly dials network mobile numbers. If answered the number is logged and sold to marketing co. You will know its a bot if the line just cuts after a few seconds after answering. Already too late....

The telesales people even leave messages now for you to call back or visit a certain store....

My mood changes rapidly when the first thing I hear is 'Hello, How are you?' or I answer the phone 'Hello, Patrick speaking'  and they say 'Hello, is that Patrick?'

Prob the bot boss.... Anyone with enough know how can write an algorithm to randomly dial numbers of a counter. Add some VOIP software, connect to a modem and bobs your bot.

Actually have no idea, but could be your neighbor....
