Well, I can confirm that 10 of my friends that is living in London, who entered neither got entry.

So my theory is that they have decided that the challenge starts when you enter the lottery, only the die hard who place themselves on the waiting list, might get in.

I've done all of them, will do no 4 next year. So I'm guaranteed an entry every year.  Anyone....with sponsor? Latrinus skipping next year.

Like the race, vibe etc. Not the way they treat the little person or small sponsor. And Mike Mike is soooo irritating, but nicer than Kevin at least.

I followed the event as part of the media corps in 2006 and lived in the race village ............... it is a once in a lifetime advenure, can you put a price on that?

I just read through the whole thread and it seems to me that every single person that has done it thinks it is not overated and well worth the money..........need I say more...

The bad news is that it is going to get harder and harder to obtain an entry.

 

Last year the Epic was oversubscribed, so the organisers gave the option of a free entry to '08 if a team wanted to hold over, so the '08 entries were already particly occupied. More people are in Amabubesi so once again more garenteed entries. More people getting entries through the volunteer route. More international and SA racing interest. so basicaly there are less lottery spots available and more demand, a bad combo. For those that didnt get in keep trying, most people I know eventualy found an entry some way or other.
