KiNgL Posted April 14, 2010 Share Howdy. I recently decided to bling out my rm7 . I purchased some kcnc bling rear derailer jockey wheels.. awesome bling bling bits. But ........ after installing the second jockey wheel one closest to the ground my chain now doesnt seem to want to seat / run smoothly on the new teeth it tries to jump off , so you get the click click noise while pedaling. changing gears etc does nothing to fix this . its a shimano xt rear derailer . as soon as i put the old wheel back the noise went away.. any ideas hot to fix? id like to keep the anodised ones on but need to fix this .. Chain Wizard Posted April 14, 2010 Share bling bling goes well with new chain, if your chain has a few km on it, it is going to do that, the way the chain worn on the chain blade and cluster is different to every bike, and your rear derailer wheel worn in on the chain, the reason why the noise goes away on the old wheels.hope this helps
adogshow Posted April 14, 2010 Share so a new chain is needed? seems pretty extreme. maybe ask your supplier/LBS about it. they might have had other peeps with the same problem?
BrendonMyb Posted April 14, 2010 Share did happen exactly the same to me about 3 weeks ago ended up being a bit expensive, had the original nylon pulley wheels but were worn badly so i decided to get some good derailer pulley wheels ( KCNC ) but also skipped a lot bought new chain & voila skipping stopped immedeatly hope this helps

David Marshall Posted April 15, 2010 Share Have you got the wheels the right way around? I know on my Shimano the top wheel is slightly narrower than the bottom and can shift slightly from side to side on the bush, while the bottom has no play - otherwise they are identical. Those blue, gold, pink etc jockey wheels looks silly in anycase.

techguy Posted April 15, 2010 Share The BEST pulley wheels are those made by the groupset manufacturer like Mampara says, the KCNC and others are always a compromise cuz they made to fit many variables and thus can cause hassles...
