Critical Mass this Friday

wow. i wanna see this. what's the official city-sanctioned organisation around this event cos that's pretty much peak hour. What routes will be followed from the westcoast into town?

I'm totally up for this, just need more clues

What sort of clues?

We cycle on the cycle path and then past the harbour and then on the outbound side of the feeway, under the bridge past the bergies.

Cant really give any landmarks but if you want to join us for a slow ride in then make sure you gotpuncture protection as they have mowed the grass again and thrown thorns everywhere.

I did my Jo'burg Critical Mass ride this morning.

 

I nearly T-boned a guy who pulled out of a side street ahead of me. When I told him (politely, believe it or not) that he shouldn't pull out in front of people, he told me I should cycle faster. When I asked him to repeat what he said, he told me I shouldn't ride my bike on the road in rush hour (this was on a quiet suburban side road). Pr*ck...

 

I then had to move across later on to avoid some potholes on the left. I moved out well in time and while I was passing them, a Volvo came right up my @rse hooting, screaming, swearing and throwing me the bird.

 

And that was with just ONE rider.

 

I hope the CT ride was more sedate!

CT ride was super chilled - thanks all! my first and good fun. Missed coffee but at least I got some mtb'ing in on the way home. Will have to get my ss project sorted (outsourced!) for next time...

CT was chilled yes,cool breeze blowing. had no major traffic problems, some close calls but no shouting and swearing this morning.

CT ride was good .. .plenty of helmets too

 

Damned the Coffee stop at Deluxe alone is worth doing this ride.

 

If you have a fixie or old school bike fetish then there are some real gems to be found on this ride!

It was a good ride all in all, shout out to the guys from Tableview.

To Jmaccelari: You had that response because there was one of you in lycra, there were 40 of us in generally normal kit, it's a weird thing, there just seems to be more space given to you on the road.
