heres a hypothetical situation - the CSA exco has resigned. please nominate who you would want to be :

 

President

V President

Road Commissioner

Convenor of selectors for Road plus 3 other selectors

 

for the time being lets just nominate people who you think would take cycling for men & women (elite & juniors) to the next level.

 

 

i am going to start the ball rolling

 

Pres - L Whittakar

V Pres - C Lemmer

Road Comm - Bart Harmse

Convenor of Selectors - Douglas Ryder

Austin, Robertson , Harding

Considering what has just happened, I think you better get some women in that team. I don't know the cycling politicians so I can't suggest someone.

 

I think the state of women's cycling (note, I don't use the term Ladies Cycling, after all, the opposite isn't gentlemen's cycling) requires some true representation at the top end.

 

I don't understand many of the intricacies of the issue, but I sure do understand that the women's prize money is ridiculous. Racers should boycott races where there is no equalilty in the two.

Bad bad idea. Organisers might then only present races for men.

 

How can two entries in a cat expect price money?

 

First point, I think they'll lose that argument with an easy gender equality suit very quickly.

 

Second point, that will happen once only, then you'll see a sudden upsurge in entries. It's a little like a supply and demand market force or what came first, chicken or the egg. Up the prize money (and other incentives) and I bet the entries will increase.

No. But you can be our official "sexy lady cyclists" scout. Offcourse looks and the willingness to do personal favours will be part of the criteria to get into our team.
