Willehond Posted September 14, 2007 Share popeye, only the big ones in the Cape like Argus and Knysna and the Cyclelab ones (of course!) get seeding (e.g. Cobra). Not that it really matters cause we get entry on the PPA seeding index in Cape Town! Only matters if you want to enter the Amashova or 94.
lowracer Posted September 14, 2007 Share dont worry, found it at http://www.cyclelab.com/Seeding.asp (or actually the lack of seeding, since i have not done any race sthe last 2, 5 years. my last race was the 2005 argus)lowracer2007-09-14 08:30:
Brakkies Sport Fotos Posted September 14, 2007 Share Hi eric Yes , I do know that the so called "pro" teams dont come down for our local races. But I would think that ALL the league races should be on the list. Willehond: No the seeding is not for those races, but more were you stand against your fellow "ou toppies / AGE GROUP " of this world. I looked at mine, I'm on ave. a 13% index piesang in the PPA, that with the "added" time to the real time. Now, because you only get 2 "shots" per year (in the cape = argus + 99er) to improve your supercycling seeding, I'm currently on 19% . This means that if you miss any of these, when do you think we will have a proper VIEW of who is were on the seeding ladder. As I said before, the J'BURG guys do think the sit pretty high up on the ladder, but down in the cape sit others that is equel or better. Not all of us can go to the 94.7, D2D , Amashova or whatever. They need to bring moe CPT Races into their "criteria", otherwise they are having that only for the guys up North with their 10 races per year that get into the "criteria". linnega Posted September 14, 2007 Share Not quite true that Cyclelab don't charge. They use the index as a way to get organisers to pay for their online entry system. So you do have a right to expect it to be updated. I believe the main problem with the timing of getting results into the seeding index is to do with the format of the data. My understanding is that Cyclelab expect the results in a predetermined format. What would have been better is if from the very beginning the Cyclelab format had an interface to accept the data from Championchip in Championchips format, especially since the CC format preceded the seeding list. That would have meant that CC could have simply sent their raw data to Cyclelab (probably on the same day) and then Cyclelab could load it as soon as they wanted to. But unfortunately we are talking about two organisations with limited expertise in an area that is not their core business.
Spinnekop Posted September 14, 2007 Share Hi eric Yes ' date=' I do know that the so called "pro" teams dont come down for our local races. [/quote'] Then organise it. I can remember our local Palaborwa (Of all places in the world!!!) club organising accomodation at the local BB for the top Pro's and the pros came to race. Enjoyed it actually. But I would think that ALL the league races should be on the list. Wrong. If you have your league races' date=' Gauteng want's theirs on. Then I will have a seeding of about 0.2% seeing that it is poorly attended and only a few "good" riders race them - no big prize money / incentive for a bona fida rider to attend. That will put my in a different seeding index than what I am worth because I was not measured to the best.......makes sense???Willehond: No the seeding is not for those races, but more were you stand against your fellow "ou toppies / AGE GROUP " of this world. I looked at mine, I'm on ave. a 13% index piesang in the PPA, that with the "added" time to the real time. Sure....but you only use your Super Cycling seeding for the most of the Gauteng races? They don't normally use it for the PPA races, do they?? So why is the SS seeding so important to you guys? Only asking because I do not know. Not all of us can go to the 94.7' date=' D2D , Amashova or whatever. [/quote'] I can't either. Do only one or two......even IF I am located in GP. They need to bring moe CPT Races into their "criteria"' date=' otherwise they are having that only for the guys up North with their 10 races per year that get into the "criteria". [/quote'] I think this is where the big issue lies. The Cape needs to organise bigger races that will attract the big guys to get "seeding status".
