Do you sometimes rest your forearms on your bars?

Ever seen Charles Solomon do this, he has some sick skills!

Crossed arms with opposite hands on the hoods, lying flat on the bar!

There was a photo from Ronelle of Charles doing this on Killarney last year some time, cant find it now.

I think its absolutely nuts to do this on SA roads, hit a pothole or bump in the road in that position and you're going down hard, agree with Mampara though, if you have the old Shimano Sti's then you have a little more control but I still cringe when I see guys riding in that position, perhaps I've gone soft from hitting the tar at 60KPH earlier this year, the tiny aero advantage you gain from that position cannot be justified for the risk in my opinion.

What a dumb question

How long have you been riding a bike?

Gaan kruip onder 'n rots erens in die woestyn Kranswurm! If you have no positive input into the topic, don't bump up your 'posts' count by talking K@K.

Back to the topic, I used to do it on my MTB (on the road) but have not tried it on my road bike. If you leading a bunch I guess it's more safer to do and be in an aerodynamic position but I would be moer of a nervous if I was sitting in a bunch and leaning on my bars - means that your hands are far from the brakes..... not lekka

What a machine!

Doing what he does best.

Pulling the group along.

Did this route a few weeks ago and the SE picked up nicely coming back.

Whole group took a bit of strain.

Charles was with us, and he was like, no, we are going too slow, so he machined so hard up at the front that left the rest of us taking strain sitting in his slip.

Chatted to him before the race on sunday. Said he wasnt feeling well, he had just had his wisdom teeth out. I wonder how he felt on the ride?

But back to the topic.

You will never find me riding like that. The drops is as far as I venture away.
