AndreZA Posted November 1, 2010 Share With respect to CWC but who in their right mind will pay R2400 for a brake disc? my 140mm is 20gr more and did not cost 5% of this. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/x-rotor-full-titanium
Pronutro Posted November 1, 2010 Share And this is CWC's fault, yes. They should just sell it for R500, and carry the cost on behalf of those silly enough to spend that on a brake.

Each to their own I say - if saving 20g and having bling gold rotors is your thing then great. Nothing wrong with hyper expensive bling - it makes bicycle components cheaper for the rest of us! You do not get R10 000 bars or stemsOn the frame I agreeCarbon railed seats are not 500% more expansive then non carbon railed ones

The more money in the cycle industry the better - it means more choice, cheaper parts and more technology. I agree it is insanely expenseive but insanely expensive is a relative term... Those titanium rotors will look great on my carbon Merida 96 Team, just wished they had 180's in stock. Will give Jnr a call later today to see if he can make a plan for me! Really, you bring up a Merida in a style contest? They are more common then Raleighs and Silverbacks combined. Imagine you disks cost 20% of you bike's value. How do you explain that to the insurance.

AndreZA Posted November 2, 2010 Share but that is why he needs that OVERVALUED disk... to give the Merida some value. It's like me when I put Merc wheelcaps on my Citi golf when I traded it in. I got an extra R200.

How do you explain that to the insurance. Can't recall mentioning the price of my bike, so I don't exactly know how you calculated the percentage of my bike's value to my new rotors? But nevertheless, rather waste your time drooling about other peoples bikes, while I will use my time (and bucks) to go better and smarter. Thanx to my favourite on-line bike store for bring us great stuff at great prices!

WR 1.0 Posted November 2, 2010 Share Easy.... demand and supply. There is clearly a demand for it and CWC is supplying a product that fit that market. Basic business actually. If you are put off by the price, the the product is not aimed at you. If someone with too much money wants to spend that on discs, good on them. Sounds like something Mr Kunene might be interested in, it should go great with the sushi. :-)
