If you are serious, get yourself a coach or two to take a look at what you are doing currently and have been doing the past few years. If they see potential to make major changes to help then consider paying for coaching. Asking around here will only leave you with more information and confusion which could hurt your cycing short term. Possibly long term.

You need to make a structured, well informed plan of how to increase your power. Such a plan covers a time span of at least a year if you want to make a big difference to your cycling.

I agree with this. Getting a coach has been the best return on investment of any cycling purchase I've ever made.

I didnt think selling testosterone was legal on the hub? ;)

LOL, the hubbers would bugger the sale up with: "pitchers" "weight" "why you selling" and still want to pay 10% of the worth.

I see a little sub heading sating "Riding Pro."

If this is your goal and you are still young then there are a few things I can suggest (strongly)

1. Get yourself the best coach you can. Find a way even if it means getting an extra job on weekends to pay for it. Whatever you need to sacrifice do it.

2. Start working on a plan to get over to Europe or the USA for a few season even if it is on some kind of exchange program or working holiday, etc. SA in my opinion is a waste of time if you are not a very very gifted rider. The opportunities and money are overseas. That is where you will either make it or not. Riding in SA alone will not prepare you enough for overseas, your first year wil be a big shock so pan for 2 or 3.

3. You need to start researching Long Term Athlete Development. Stay away from coaches who promise quick results and dont know much about LTAD. This will be a big key to you making it or not. With limited time trying to make it and especially with the costs involved you will want to get it right first time. Quick results are nice for the season, but will limit how far you will eventually progress as an athlete.

4. Race your heart out as you go and learn as much as possible and dont be a pack sitter unless you are a really good sprinter and that is your thing. You will only be able to make an impression overseas if you get noticed. And to get noticed you must get out of the pack.

5. Spend time working on your mental fitness. To attain your full potential you will need to align all aspects of your life including your mind. Without a strong, focused and confident mind you will struggle not only with your cycling, but with all the other challenges that you will come across along your journey.

It is a hard road for most, but make it or not, it is a journey that will change your life like it did mine these past few years. Good luck man!

Seems like you could do with some rest every now and then... Very important!

1. Find a tall building.

2. Run up the stairs to the top and back down.

3. Rest for a day- active recovery slowly on the bike.

4. Repeat 1. and 2. on day 3.

5. Active rest recovery.

6. Weekend ride.

7. Weekend ride.

Repeat 1 to 7.

Week 3 active recovery rides.

In the 4th week, run up the stairs and down and back up again, faster, or find a taller building. A short building also works, you just have to run up and down more times.

Also, you don't have to go to Europe to find tall buildings, unless you live in Pofadder or in Tweebuffelsmeteenskootmorsdoodgeskietfontein.

Repeat this over two months. You will develop power that will turn you into a climbing monster.

Resume normal cycling programme.

Or get a coach if you can afford it.

Don't forget that you get stronger from rest after a workout. If your body does not feel like doing it, then you probably are due for a rest or active recovery.

Leg presses will develop power through more muscle mass, but you need to find a balance between power training and retaining your speed- a coach will help you do that, unless you know about interval training and can put up with pain once a week.
