There was a guy out on his BMW bike taking photo's on saturday too..... Evidence against the cyclists perhaps?

Cyclists have as much a right to the road as a car. What is he going to do next? Take pictures of cars as evidence against motorists?

Also noticed him by the roundabout by Brookwood trout farm, luckily had no punctures though...

I don't think the cyclists in the cradle are all crit racers. The photos I've seen are of big club rides with cyclists of all shapes and sizes all over the road. Seems to me, albeit with my admittedly limited understanding of the situation, all that is needed is:

1. Some ride marshalls with whistles and a good pair of lungs to create some order in these club rides.

2. Find out who is painting drawing pins and get them some psychological assistance.

I dont mean they behave like "Crit racers". What i meant is, the guys should go set up some crit racing on sundays, to stay out of the craddle. I think its dangerous there.

I know what you meant buddy. The people I saw don't belong in a crit. They are riding all over the road. Putting them in a crit would be a recipe for mayhem.

This craddle area sounds unsafe to ride bikes. I have seen all these threads on the hub about it, and i think you owes need to find a carpark, and race criteriums around it on sundays. Someones gona get killed. We just had an owe shot dead in the back down here in KZN last week.

I think the best thing for cyclists who have not experienced the cradle route, is to actually give it a try. Its actually ideal for cycling, and it has a wider road just to cater for cyclists. The whole route is perfect. If you come up to JHb for a holiday, give it a try.

Ok so your roadies need to do this: Put up signs offering a R1000 reward for anyone with info regarding the problem. Thats a small community. People talk, staff talk, someone knows and everyone wants cash. If it doesn't get results at least it might scare the guilty parties from doing it again if they think everyone on the road especially pedestrians are looking out for them.

I just phoned somebody I know who lives in the Cradle and offered R1000-00 for a lead to who did this. he will spread the word and let me know if anything transpires. He frequents pubs in the vicinity of where this happened and he is very positive that he will pick up something. He does not like the cyclists as he has to contend with them on a daily basis, but he thinks somebody who does something like this is a low life!!!!!!!!

We should club together and buy a donkey cart. We can take turns riding it around the cradle and pissing off the residents

they might be pissed off enough by now.

Not cool! :( especially as I am a considerate cyclist!!

but the other cyclists might not be :(

and the oke in the car who were aiting behind 4 bunches of inconsiderate cyclists who may have thrown signs at him, won't know that you're the considerate one when he passes you

it's a dangerous place, i don't like driving that road when i want to go to teak place; it must be far worse cycling there :(
