I don't ride roadraces much anymore, but got just a little bit frustrated by how the seeding works. A lot of guys wheelsuck all the way to simonstown, limit their losses up smits and then latch onto the next bunch once on the flat.pretty soon they're at chappies 5min down and they *** off for the last 30km. End result:they finish 20min down on the group leaders, and will no doubt keep their seeding despite being in the bottom 10% of their group.

Some would say its smart riding, its a reward/privilege for experience. Put in a group of their current ability they would be 45min slower and would have to work at the front too. That is precisely why

people try and cheat their way into groups above their ability,it will result in better times (earlier starts too).

I've heard people say the only thing keeping them riding each year is the fear of losing their good seeding, Because they could never get to that same seeding if they had to start from scratch again. That in itself should sound wrong to some people(and perfect sense to those who have been in the sport for a while and have lost a bit of speed!)

Is there a solution? Well currently a 3:30 argus from E group is considered better than a 3:40

from the oke who timetrialed from OF.obviously the second guy will get there with a bit of perseverance and a few reseedings, but the first guy will hold his level for years only gradually dropping down.

Adding a lot more volatility and comparing to group placing would seed the field better to current ability. as a scheming hacker you'd get dropped quicker and would have to wait a lot longer for a group of your ability.

I expect if you finish 20 minutes behind your group your seeding will drop

Hey everyone I agree with TCRCARBON - have the evidence before making assumptions. The evidence against these peole is over a long period of time and many seeding races not just one race.

It is easy - if your time is consistently and constantly the same as someone known to you (In the same club or click) of better ability, and it is known that you are not capable of that time - YOU ARE CHEATING. The results for the big races show this as all of a sudden the time taken to finish the race shoots up, the average speed drops hectically

and you end up last in your start group.

These people mentioned in the original thread have a racing liscense, dont ride near well enough to deserve to ride with the racing groups but do this only to get early starts for the big races. They are they ones that cause accidents due to being in a bunch of better ability than them or get dropped off the back and wait like parasites for the next bunches to come along.

If you gona use examples of where you "think" people are cheating.... dont attach names to it, rather just post the example without the name... there are names here being accused of "cheating" and are toally inocently going about their ride...

The name gets incorrectly associated with the cheating... beware... its like crying rape!!! How would you feel?
