Imagine Lance and Levi teaming up together for the epic, I rate they would have a great chance

Will Levi be sitting Lance's wheel or Lance be sitting Levi's wheel?

I hear he will do it on a single speed....with perma tubes and a steel fork as well...

I say good luck to him, I wish I had the time, money and fitness to do it.

that plonker couldnt even win the argus - whats he doing @ the epic?

Yeah, he was out sprinted by someone who has never won the TDF. and whose name he doesn't even know.

What a plonker :o

It will be good for S.A. and S.A. mountainbiking, wishing him a good race.

+1. Bit like Tiger Woods. You either love him or hate him, but his presence will firmly put any event squarely on the map.

agree - he has about 2.7 million twitter followers and 1.5 million on facebook - many of those are the sorts of people who won't know about the cape epic or riders such as platt sauser etc, so the publicity for epic will be awesome

He's a highly influential tjop that will put the country on the world stage again, this is excellent news for cape tourism.I do think it'll create a bit of a circus for the race and race village, both good and bad.

As for winning, don't think he's got a chance as a firsttimer to stage mtb races. My money is on burry and susi, have been too strong not to finally win it (essentially won 2009)

LOL thats like me saying that you appear to be a poephol. Yes I admit the odds are I'm wrong in my assumption on you and apologize for making assumptions.

LA is a big celebrity with a healthy sized economy attached, to expect him to behave like a normal pleb is unrealistic.

The fact that he is still interested enough in cycling to take part in events all over the world is testament to his commitment to the sport.

So what if he gets paid a small fortune, that’s his privilege and right to make a living out of something he enjoys doing.

:D

On what do you base your assumptions about me? You know nothing about me. I don't care what you call me. It is of no interest to me. For all I know you could be Lance's PA.

He is retired form the sport and now makes money out of showing his face. He does not make any money out of cycling anymore. He is retired.(AGAIN) I base my assumptions on him about the millions of articles about him. I have chosen the side I want to be on and I think he is a big headed prick.

My statement was that I wonder how he is going to ride the Epic when he thinks he can earn money for his face being on tv. The Epic is already way over subscribed. I cannot see Keving giving Lance any money for being in his race. I rode the Epic this year and as I said everyone was very friendly and good to be around. Even the big name riders. From what I gather about Lance he is going to make the race a media nightmare and probably harder for all the riders to just be there and have fun.

As for Lance still being interested in the sport I couldn't disagree more. He choses very carefully what he wishes to do and does it. Lance is only about money and nothign else. If you were on fire in the street he would see what he could earn out of it before he helped. That is my view of him.

I disagree. I can see the organisers offering him money to take part in the race. It'll raise the Epic's already-wide global profile. As a long-term investment, it could be profitable.

Kevin pay somebody?

Can not imagine that in my lifetime. ABSA or the Sponsors will fit the bill if money is to be paid.

Yup, I have dealt with him with regards money / epic, before I'm flamed!
