Hi,

Is this an ominous sign for the Cape Argus. The wind has been pumping for the past month without fail. I suppose I should view it in a positive light to assist with training, but damn it is FRUSTRATING!!

Agree'd there, also had some serious hard training sessions, Constantia Neck and chappies is fine, but as soon as you hit Smits Winkel around the back at the nature reserve etc...thats where it sucks big time!! If this keeps on the Cape Cobra is going to be one very tough race!

I am over the wind. Wunderground forecasts southerly wind every day all the way 'til next Tuesday which is where their forecasts end. Time to service the mtb and go ride in the forest.

I train mostly early mornings - 4.30am, and even then lately the wind has been pomping!

But luckily I can head to gym for a pool session, but still... not been able to ride my bike makes me "moerig"...

Windguru predicts a lekka lull on Sunday.

And I cannot see any brown eagles on the outskirts of D Ville or feel the wind through my 'hair' on the gym's spinning bikes.

The wind has got me sErIoUsLy "not-lus" to ride. Thought it was just me going through a bit of a "lull" period at the moment, but honestly, I look at my bike and say to myself "I have to get on you and ride", but then look outside and just give up on the idea. NOT LEKKA

When da wind blows

de road bike slows

BUT my MTB goes and goes

View from top of Hillcrest over the ocean was magic this morning.

Wind blew me up Majik forest; teased me on Hillcrest and Kliprug track, and was in full assault climbing out of Contermans upto and out on the green route to vissers.

Dats de beauty of MTB - when it rains snows or blows - the MTB goes.

Rode in yesterday and had to battle to stay upright a few times, this morning I knew not to even think about riding in, good thing too.

Maybe tomorrow again
